Getting Started

An informal conversation prior to agreeing therapy helps both you and I clarify what you want to work on and what you hope to get out of our sessions. It also gives you an opportunity to get to know me and to ask me any questions you may have about what to expect from therapy. The relationship that we develop is really important and a call to discuss your needs beforehand helps us get off to a good start.

In an initial call we will typically talk briefly about your family life and history, any health or medical conditions you may have, and any previous experiences of therapy. We will also talk a little about what you are struggling most with, and the ways in which that is impacting your daily life.
